AgriLens.AI turns a phone photo of a grain sample into a tamper-evident, FAQ-grade quality report. Delivering that service means handling some of your data. We keep what we collect to what the service needs, and we explain all of it below in plain language.
01 Who we are
AgriLens.AI is a product of AgriLens AI Private Limited registration in progress, based in Saharsa, Bihar, India ("AgriLens", "we", "us", "our"). We are the data fiduciary / controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

02 Scope of this policy
This policy covers the AgriLens.AI mobile app, the enterprise web portal, and this website (agrilens.ai). It applies to farmers, merchants, godown operators, and the enterprise and government teams who use AgriLens to grade and manage grain.
Some accounts are created by an organisation that invites you (for example, a procurement enterprise or a state grain agency). Where your organisation manages your account and the reports you create on their behalf, that organisation is a joint controller of the data you generate through your work, and their own privacy terms may also apply.
03 Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information, only as needed to run the service:

We do not collect your grain photos or location for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
04 How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- grade your grain sample and generate, store and let others verify the resulting report;
- create and secure your account, and sign you in;
- show reports to the right people in your organisation, based on your role;
- send you the one-time codes and notifications you need to use the service;
- operate, maintain, debug and improve the app and our grading models;
- keep the service safe — detecting fraud, tampering and misuse; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we process your data on the basis of your consent (given when you sign up and use the app) and, where applicable, to perform the service you have asked for and for our legitimate legal uses.
05 AI analysis of your photos
To grade a sample, the photos you capture are sent securely to our backend and analysed by an artificial-intelligence model. That analysis is performed with the help of a third-party AI provider that processes the image on our behalf to return the grading results.
06 Login & biometric unlock
You can sign in with a password or with a one-time code (OTP) sent to your phone or email. If you set a password, we store only a securely hashed version of it — never the password itself.
If you enable fingerprint or face unlock, that biometric check is handled entirely by your phone's operating system. Your fingerprint or face data never leaves your device and is never sent to or stored by AgriLens.
07 Location data
AgriLens uses location only in the foreground — that is, while you are actively using the app to create a report — to record where a sample was graded. We do not track your location in the background, and we do not follow your movements between reports.
You control this through your device's location permission. If you decline or revoke it, you can still use the app; the affected reports simply will not carry a location stamp.
09 Where your data is stored
Your data is stored and processed on Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure — including a managed PostgreSQL database and encrypted blob storage for images and report files. We aim to host data in India where feasible. Some processing (such as the AI analysis in section 5, and message delivery) may involve providers that operate outside India; where data is transferred across borders, we take steps for it to remain protected consistent with this policy and applicable law.
10 Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Reports and their associated images are retained so that reports stay verifiable over time and so your organisation keeps its records. We retain data for as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law, after which we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data as described in the next section.
11 Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, access controls that limit report visibility to your role, and reputable cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to promptly address issues if they arise. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at contact@agrilens.ai.
12 Your rights & choices
Subject to applicable law, you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Delete your account and associated personal data;
- Withdraw consent you previously gave (this will not affect processing already carried out); and
- Control device permissions — such as camera and location — through your phone's settings at any time.
To make any of these requests, email us at contact@agrilens.ai. We may need to verify your identity before acting. If your account was created by an organisation, some requests may need to go through that organisation, and we will help coordinate. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Data Protection Board of India.
13 Children
AgriLens.AI is a tool for agricultural trade and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
14 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our service or the law evolves. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where changes are significant, provide a more prominent notice. Please review this page periodically.
